British Dressage Young Professionals Final

Our very own Melissa Beer is shortlisted for the prestigious British Dressage Young Professional Award 2016

The British Dressage Young Professional award final takes place on Monday 21 March 2016 at Talland Equestrian Centre, Gloucestershire and we are proud to announce that our very own Melissa Beer is one of these amazing six finalists.

This exciting award, funded by the National Lottery and Sport England, is a British Dressage initiative that started in 2009, and aims to find talented young people who have what it takes to be the complete dressage professional.

Shortlisted alongside Melissa Beer are fellow riders and coac

hes, Fiona Brennan, Jessica Thompson, Levi Hunt, Keri Bates and Stena Hoerner. We wish everyone good luck for the final.

The final on Monday is a combination of riding, both advanced and young/problem horses and also discussion sessions with Penny Pollard and Dr Moira Lafferty as well as coaching and stable management sessions. The judges, Mrs Jennie Loriston-Clarke and Mr Paul Fielder, have a full day with all those shortlisted and its sure to be a fairly tough decision.

The award and grant of £4,000 to the winner comes with a commitment to be a good ambassador for British Dressage and the sport.

Everyone that knows Melissa Beer personally and professionally will be in no doubt that she is a role model for the sport and to young and not so young riders.

She is without doubt one of the most talented, gracious and sympathetic riders in the UK today and there will be a lot of people rooting for her on Monday 21 March. Good luck Mel!
